Zhang Jingli and his percussion band visited the Zhuhai Cultural Lecture Hall yesterday.

       After the brief speech of the host, Zhang Jingli and the members of Jianli Percussion Ensemble began the lecture "Opening the Door to Art in the Seventh Lecture on Percussion Music" with a bright and lively piece of Mozart's 40th Symphony. After the piece was finished, Zhang Jingli said that percussion has been very important from ancient times to the present, and occupies an important position among musical instruments.

 

       However, the general public does not know much about this. Zhang Jingli said that he once asked passers-by on the street what percussion instruments they knew, and the other party could only answer "drum set", but in fact there are hundreds of kinds of percussion instruments. From the category, percussion instruments are roughly divided into three types: wooden, leather and metal.

 

       Zhang Jingli pointed to the most number of instruments on the stage and introduced them to the citizens: "This is Marimba, a very important percussion instrument." She and her bandmates introduced Marimba while playing it.

 

       Marimba is directly translated from its English name "marimba". It is a widely popular and beloved melodic percussion instrument in the world. Its keyboard is made of wood, and the arrangement of the keys is the same as that of a piano, but the area is several times larger than that of a piano. A cylindrical tube under the keyboard is a speaker. Marimba is also divided into several types, such as bass Marimba and bass Marimba.

 

Is the keyboard "mosaic"?

 

       Then, Zhang Jingli and Jianli Percussion Ensemble performed "Champagne Polka", "Bird", "Seven Heroes and Bandits", "Dedicated to Alice" and other songs with only percussion instruments. After performing each song, Zhang Jingli would introduce the triangle, gongs, drums, Bass Drum and other instruments used in the performance to the audience and explain their characteristics.

 

       Among the audience on that day, there were many children. Therefore, Zhang Jingli and the members of the orchestra put the masks of the main characters in "Happy Yangyang and Gray Wolf" on their foreheads and performed the music of the play.

 

       When performing "Love" by the Little Tigers, the audience couldn't help clapping along to the rhythm in the familiar music. When performing the energetic hip-hop song, a little girl who looked like she was three or four years old couldn't help but dance and jump, and other audience members also stood up and waved their hands.

 

       There was a humorous scene in the interactive link. When Zhang Jingli pointed to Marimba and asked what the keyboard was made of, a middle-aged male audience actually replied that it was "mosaic", which made the audience burst into laughter.

 

Lead the audience to "enter the percussion music"

 

       Zhang Jingli, a Chinese young percussionist, is currently working at China Philharmonic Orchestra, and has performed in countless countries and regions around the world.

 

       In 1998, he cooperated with China National Opera House to hold a percussion concert, and in 1999, he cooperated with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra of Canada to perform solo concerts. He has also cooperated with many symphony orchestras, including the Harbin Opera and Ballet Symphony Orchestra, the Shandong Opera and Ballet Symphony Orchestra, China National Opera House, the Shanghai Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Kunming Symphony Orchestra, and the Xi'an Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra, to hold percussion concerts.

 

       In 1998, he participated in the creation of Jianli Percussion Ensemble. Jianli Percussion Ensemble aims to carry forward Chinese traditional music culture and systematically introduce Western percussion music culture. It has created and adapted many percussion pieces that are appreciated by both the elite and the masses, vividly reflecting the characteristics of percussion instruments, which are as gentle as spring water and as passionate as a thunderstorm.
