Master Class with Venezuelan Maraca Master Alirio Torrealba Is About to Begin
Venezuelan percussionist Alirio Torrealba will soon give a distinctive master class, offering percussion enthusiasts a fresh experience.
Alirio Torrealba is a Venezuelan percussionist with twelve years of teaching and performance experience. From 2005 to 2013, he worked with the Llanos Percussion Ensemble; from 2007 to 2013, with the Llanos Regional Orchestra; from 2013 to 2017, with the Caracas Youth Symphony Orchestra; from 2018 to 2019, with the Americas Orchestra; from 2019 to 2020, with the Bogotá Youth Philharmonic Orchestra; and since 2018, at the IPlay Maracas Academy. He has also toured with symphony orchestras in France, South Korea, Japan, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Latin America, and beyond.
Alirio Torrealba participated in the 2015 International Percussion Festival Italian Percussion Competition and other international percussion festivals. In 2017, he took part in the Contemporary Music Conference and activities of Colombia's contemporary-music community, and won second prize in the youth division of the first Rafael Sambrano International Percussion Competition. In 2019, he participated in the International Percussion Festival Italian Percussion Competition and the Costa Rica International Marimba Competition.
