The feast of percussion music is coming. Are you ready?

The famous percussionist Zhang Jingli and the famous conductor Zhang Yi were invited by the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra to participate in the "Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra 2017/18 Music Season" held at the Xinghai Music Hall Symphony Hall. At that time, the Timpani concerto "Planet Damnation" composed by the famous New Zealand composer John Psathas will be performed. The composer said, "This is a piece composed for the Timpani and there is no existing Timpani piece that can bring such a challenge to the performers." This work has been performed abroad all year round and has never been performed in China before. Now, John Psathas will entrust Zhang Jingli with "Planet Damnation" and perform it with the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra in China. It is really exciting to see this work performed for the first time in China. In addition, the composer Chen Yi's "Percussion Concerto" will also be performed in the first half. Zhang Jingli will bring a percussion feast to the Guangzhou audience with his passionate and delicate performance. Percussion itself is an art form that integrates vision and hearing, and the sense of rhythm can also be enhanced in the process of the performer performing the melody. This will definitely be an unforgettable percussion concert. Let's wait and see!
