"BAIC Weilan•Beijing Performance Night - 2018 Olympic Park Music Season" officially opened grandly on September 7, 2018. This music season was hosted by Beijing Performing Group and Zhou Tao, Chief Performance Officer of Beijing Performing Group and a famous TV host, took office as the general director. The music season includes four major theme performance activities: "Symphony Night", "Chinese National Opera Night", "Chinese and Foreign Classic Concerto Night" and "Colorful Beijing Performance Night - Passionate Beijing".
The "Chinese and Foreign Classical Concerto Night" was officially staged yesterday (September 9, 2018). The concert was lively and bustling. In addition, there were live broadcasts on platforms such as livestreaming and Sohu Video. Many music lovers gathered on the online platforms, and the number of viewers on the platform's livestream reached 600,000.
The Night of Classic Chinese and Foreign Concertos launched by this Olympic Park Music Festival brings together a variety of Chinese and foreign instruments such as bamboo flute, Trumpet, violin, harp, zither, Marimba, etc., to present a wonderful concert feast to the audience. The configuration of various instruments is perfectly integrated from tone matching, rhythm coordination, and rhythm control, and then performed by talented musicians such as Lv Sicheng, Chen Yue, Qi Baoli Gao, Jiang Kemei, Zhang Jingli, etc. The selection of songs starts with the classic piece "In the Fields of Hope", followed by the melodious "Homing Swan", the powerful and beautiful "Deep Night", and finally the exciting "Holy Fire - 2008", which perfectly concludes the performance.

2018 is the tenth year since the successful hosting of the Beijing Olympic Games. Last night, the stage of the concert was colorful in the unique Bird's Nest, in the exquisite Water Cube, and in the embrace of the solemn National Stadium. Ten years ago, Beijing presented an unparalleled Olympic spectacle to the world. Now, the 2022 Winter Olympic cycle has begun. The percussion concerto "Holy Fire - 2008" composed by the famous composer Tang Jianping, which was performed by the famous percussion musician Zhang Jingli in cooperation with the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, as the closing piece, further pushed the "Night of Chinese and Foreign Classical Concertos" to its climax, as if bringing people back to the grandeur of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
In the concerto, Trombone, violin and cello play fast and freely, with delicate and light tones, as if it were the constantly rolling and jumping flames burning on the Olympic Mountain, radiating vitality. Marimba's solo music alternates between time and space, swaying back and forth, and the trembling melody conveys emotions. Like the Holy Fire, it creates a quiet and ethereal background, giving the music an extra depth and thought-provoking depth.
After the performance, there was thunderous applause from the audience. Each audience member was still in awe, as if they had not yet recovered from the grandeur of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. With the bow and thanks from the performer Zhang Jingli to the audience and the musicians of the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, the performance of "The Torch - 2008" came to an end, marking the end of the Beijing Auto Wei Lan•Beijing Performance Night - the "Chinese and Foreign Classical Concerto Night" of the 2018 Olympic Park Music Festival.
